On a picturesque Saturday in Blythewood, S.C., eager buyers boarded trolley cars to the Priority Reservation Selection EventSM for Cobblestone ParkSM, the newest private, gated club community to be launched by Ginn Clubs & ResortsSM in South Carolina.

Blythewood is located close to the state capital of Columbia, but the launch event drew guests from as far away as the United Kingdom. Those in attendance were met with an unprecedented display of Southern hospitality. Adding to their enjoyment were unique experiences such as helicopter excursions, neck massages, dining, musical entertainment and Kids Crewsm activities, such as face painting, pumpkin carving and even mechanical bull rides.

Guests responded to this impeccably planned event, by purchasing 800 homesites for more than $187 million in just a few short hours.

As always, no detail was left unattended, making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Tents outfitted with chandeliers, bright yellow mums, lush greenery and water features housed scaled models of Cobblestone Park, while sales areas buzzing with activity were showcased on a large-screen TV.

Among the recreational opportunities are a Junior Olympic-size swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, championship tennis courts, spa facilities, fitness center and sports fields. The topography is also breathtaking, with 750 acres of rolling hills, tall oak trees and Southern pines. Cobblestone Park will soon begin construction on a new clubhouse, and two-time U.S. Open champion Lee Janzen will redesign the existing 27 holes and also create a new nine-hole course.

Cobblestone Park’s proximity to Columbia affords its residents easy access to a wide array of quaint shops and boutiques, dining experiences, arts and entertainment.

While real estate launches at Ginn’s resort communities are quite renowned, this was the company’s first foray into a primary home community in an exurban, non-resort area featuring resort-style amenities.

“We purchased the former University Club in January, 2004, and are positioning it as the most prestigious club community in the capital region by offering programs and activities for every age group,” says Ryan Julison, Ginn’s vice president of communications. “There is no other community in the area that brings together such a collection of recreation and that is as dedicated to family and filled with spirit.”
